		SPEAKER SUBMITTAL INFORMATION   The deadline has been extended to October 4th!   Please note that the topics outlined in the Call for Speakers are simply guidelines and we encourage all speakers to submit their angle on any given topic or submit their ideas under the YOUR IDEA section.   The Evaluation Process The 2010 Conference Advisory Committee is looking for a well-defined program encompassing the outlined topics and will evaluate all presentation submittals on the following criteria: overall quality depth and “how to” relevance to defined topics defined focus for the identified audience practical applications of ideas examples on how effects are achieved timeline of presentation previous speaking experience past attendee ratings (if applicable) presentation method good overall mix   Compensation Seminar (90 min), one speaker: $750 honorarium Seminar (90 min), two or more speakers: $500 honorarium each Workshop (3 hr), one speaker: $875 honorarium Workshop (3 hr), two or more speakers: $550 honorarium each 1-Day Course (6 hr), one speaker: $1,750 honorarium 1-Day Course (6 hr), two or more speakers: $1,100 honorarium each NOTE: All Speakers will receive a Full Conference Package (offer does not include free admittance to Institutes or Masters’ courses). One complimentary hotel night per course day for out-of-town speakers. Travel and incidentals will not be covered.   If You Are Selected The following items are required as part of the Speaker Agreement. Strict deadlines apply. Short bio (limit 1000 characters including spaces, approx. 150 words) for on-site introduction Signed Speaker Contract W-9 form for US citizens or 8233 for international presenters Payment form outlining honorarium recipient (speaker, company or charity) with correct address L IGHTFA IR INTERNATIONAL provides an official LFI PowerPoint template, plus first and last page, which are required for use on all PowerPoint presentations Reminder to attendees to complete survey Presentation must be for the entire allotted time including 15-minute Question & Answer session LFI reserves the right to cancel any course due to insufficient registration.   Handouts / Presentations Handout materials that support the presentation are required. Handouts must be uploaded to LFI site by March 26, 2010. NO EXCEPTIONS. Links or general overviews will not be accepted. Handouts for 1-day and 2-day courses can be submitted as PowerPoint or PDF files and will be distributed to course participants as hard copies (to be printed 2-3 slides per page). In our efforts to become a paperless conference, all seminar and workshop handouts will be offered as PDF files for attendees to download prior to the event. Payment of honorarium contingent upon providing a handout by deadline of March 26, 2010, and upon presentation being given for the entire allotted time. IMPORTANT NOTE ON “SALES PITCH” Your presentation must not be a sales pitch for any services, products or company and may not include corporate logos on slides. If LFI receives complaints that your presentation was in any way considered commercial, LF I reserves the right to waive your honorarium. Violation of this rule will also impact future speaker selection of you or anyone in your company.   Past Speaker Policy To ensure a good mix of new and past presenters, speakers who have spoken more than 2 years in a row or more than 3 times over a 5-year period will be considered on a case-by-case basis but are encouraged to submit.   Submittal Deadline! The deadline to submit to speak for the 2010 LIGHTFAIR International Trade Show & Conference is midnight, EST, on October 4, 2009. Proposals must be submitted and "Finalized" online by October 4th to be considered.   LFI 2010 Submittal Instructions Submit to Speak   Timeline October 4, 2009 Deadline for submissions.   November 2009 Selection results sent to submitters.
