MEDIA REGISTRATION & CREDENTIALS
Check back for LFI 2015 press registration in February 2015.
All members of the working press must register and present valid credentials. Qualified media representatives must provide a valid business card on site in the LFI Media Center to the attendant (with individual's name, title and the name of an approved media outlet) and a valid outlet-issued credential or the masthead from an approved media outlet with individual's name and title listed.
NOTE: Business cards will not be accepted as the only form of media identification for on-site registration. Media registering on site will need to bring press credentials or a masthead of publication and business card.
Freelance writers must provide an original letter of assignment via email to firstname.lastname@example.org and a bylined article published within the past six months. Those who freelance occasionally and are employed by non-news organizations are not eligible for media credentials.
Electronic media representatives, including editors of websites, must present proof of an existing site with relevant editorial content and proof of circulation.
Who qualifies for Media Registration?
Editorial members of approved print and broadcast outlets may register as working media. Eligibility is subject to approval by LIGHTFAIR International.
Who does NOT qualify for Media Registration?
All non-editorial employees and/or representatives: Marketing personnel (PR, creative services, etc.), Publishing/Sales personnel (publishers, advertising, etc.), Writers & Publishers of personal or corporate newsletters. Family members of legitimate media book authors’ eligibility will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Non-eligible representatives (defined above) are required to register as Attendees.
However, PR representatives with exhibiting companies must register as an Exhibitor. A business card and proof of client relationship with an exhibiting manufacturer will be required.
Editors/reporters planning to bring a camera to shoot pictures during the show must fill out the form. If you are approved, you will need to obtain and wear the photographer ribbon provided in the press room (those without the ribbon will be asked to stop shooting and/or leave the trade show floor).
LFI encourages all media to pre-register. If media did not pre-register, they can register on site in the LFI Media Center at the Javits Center.
Media are required to go to the LFI Media Center first to be approved and then will need to go to the speaker/media registration to retrieve the badge printed.
